Get to know the photographer
Dana Felthauser
Born in Massachusetts and raised in Texas I've gradually been making my way out west, drawn to the gorgeous landscapes, filled with adventure and beauty. It's an exciting year for me, 2026 will mark the first year that I'm marketing myself as a wedding photographer! I studied photojournalism in college and the skills of shooting in a broad range of environments with quickly changing subjects translates perfectly for weddings.
Currently I've shot 14 weddings over the years so, while relatively new, I know what it takes to be in the right place at the right time to get the shot during your big day. I am currently pricing my wedding packages to encourage the first bookings this year so take advantage while they last!
My favorite quote:
"You are an aperture through which the universe is looking at and exploring itself."
-Alan Watts
I grew up in Texas where I quickly realized it was a little too flat and a little too hot for my liking. I studied photojournalism at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ where I fell in love with the outdoors.
I was drawn to the Eastern Sierra for all the outdoor adventures to be had! Climbing, skiing, mountain biking and hiking mountains were all activities that made moving here so irresistible. So here I am!
Photography was my first love. I realized pretty young that taking pictures was the perfect excuse to get out and explore the world. In high school I worked as the photo editor of the yearbook and in college I became the photo editor of the school newspaper. School was helpful but it was the three newspaper photography internships I did after school where I really learned how to use my camera.
